Healing Always Comes

Well, part of our healing journey this week was to battle a virus. It wasn't very fun. But I learned some very important things, for which I am thankful. Scripture tells us that as we pray, and as Jesus intercedes for us, even the things which satan intended against us can be used by God for our good.
1. I was reminded how important the word of God is in our lives, and how we just can't afford to neglect it. I was also reminded that it truly does bring healing; it really does work. There were a few days where I could barely get off of the sofa, but I kept reading the psalms for a few minutes at a time, and I kept the Miracle Channel playing most of the day. So the word of God was going in my ears, and in my eyes. Whenever I lay down, I played a bible cd of scripture, or listened to a teaching on love by Kenneth Copeland. Sometimes I couldn't take it in very well, but I knew that my spirit could hear it. And my spirit was growing strong. After a few days, even though I could feel in my body that I still had a really high fever, I felt good! Because my spirit felt good. The word of God always brings healing, and you are never too sick to be unaffected by it. That would be like being to hungry to benefit from nourishment.
One particular day I had been crying out to God, and He had someone from the Signet Centre call me (as a follow up to a prayer request) and they were able to pray for me. I was too weak at that point to do much, and the Father sent me the help I needed. He was letting me know that He IS the Word, and the Word always works.
2. I realized the importance of having the home kept up regularly, and having the children in the home to be well trained. I guess it's like a little army in a way: if the soldiers are all doing their exercises every day, then it's not too big of a deal when a real overnight exercise arises. There were a couple days where I didn't do much standing or talking, and the eight year old took care of the six year old, who also was fighting a fever. She did it cheerfully, and compassionately, and she did it well. All of the kids were amazing. They didn't fight; they looked out for eachother; the 12 year old made 2 simple meals; they all did their chores. Now I have to say, that if Jed and I weren't training them to do these things on a normal day, they wouldn't have known to do it when a real need arose.
3. I saw how important it was that each child in our family have their own personal faith in God! My eight year old daughter had to pray for me to recieve healing. They each needed God to keep them strong, and to give them peace. This week of battling sickness wasn't an experience that God ever wanted our family to have, but He was able to work in our family the way He did because each child has a relationship with His word; they know Him personally, and He answers their prayers. It wasn't enough that Jed and I have faith for them. They needed to know Jesus themselves, and He came through for them!
4. I deepened my appreciation for the psalms, which help us to express our hearts to God, to know that He hears, and answers, and they help us to perform the spiritual warfare we need to in difficult times.

In summary, I would say: get yourself a good audio bible. There was one afternoon I was feverish, and laying on the bed with the cd playing, and I could hear the words very clearly with my spirit: I could feel His power entering my spirit. That's where healing comes from: it fills your born again spirit, and then manifests in your body.

Be well today, and journey on.
